I get the same noise. I have the bov spacer. Noise has only been there since putting it on. I don't get the noise if I'm just revving it in neutral. But then I think pov's is to do with the cai. If you recall pov, when we and Wayne were in Thurrock and u were showin me the cai etc u could hear it sucking in air in the familiar sound of a chatter. So I assume that's what amplifies the sound??
Either way, I've been told by enough people that it's not surge.

Why would I get surge purely by adding a piece of metal with holes in it? If this is the case, forge best stop selling them as a lot of people, (when the 'surge' kills their turbo of course) will b lining up court cases for them. Maybe you should tell them as u appear to be somewhat better advised than any of us??

There is no problem FFS. All allen and cupra man have said is to replace your current forge dv with the latest OEM revision DV which is of a piston type. This is the best DV for the 2.0TFSI which I also own btw as it is the most responsive and doesnt have tearing issues or servicing requirements as the earlier revision or aftermarket units!!!. However fitting this DV will not get rid of the noise that you seem to think is surging!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So yes Allen and cupra man have given you info of what to replace your forge unit with but it doesnt fix the "problem" as you so call it and you need to understand that there is no problem!
Who cares if you have driven hothatches since 2000, apples and oranges as those engines work in a completely different way to that of the 2.0TFSI. You cannot try and compare and draw similiarites between the 2.0TFSI and say a evo engine just because they are both 4pot turbo engines. The engines are completely different!!!!
Actually it does get rid of the noise mate. Alan`s car does not have this from what I know, I heard his car from close up and he does not have it.

Als car doesn't have a forge spacer fitted so of course you wouldn't hear it

There are a lot of noises a non standard Leon Cupra 2.0T will make.
Even on a standard car, if you are driving on full boost, and let your foot slip off the side of the accelarator when at wide open throttle (WOT), you will hear a chirping noise.
On a car with an intake, especially if its mapped, you will sometimes hear flutter on boost working up the revs, and you will definitely get some kind of let off noise, especially if you come off the power quickly (as per note above about slipping foot off of accelarator when at WOT).
My car makes lots of non standard noises (not for much longer as its being ripped to bits shortly) including an occassional "boost flutter" noise on hard accelaration, let off chirps/whooshes etc etc. You wont have heard those noises at Crail as most of the noises are only audible inside the car although if you "work" the car correctly (you get to know how they can be provoked), they can be very loud. Owen has an uprated diverter valve on his car for example which snaps shut quicker than the OEM valve, and it goes out with one heck of a noise
I cant access youtube from this location, but will go back through the clips above tonight to see whats what. Pretty sure all you are hearing is normal, as I never heard anything untoward in your car at Crail.
You defo need to bin the BOV though because they are as much use as a fart in a spacesuit. You will get better noise off an intake in any case

I don't know whether you either just don't read what's being said, are having difficulties understanding or are just being argumentative for the sake of it.
YOU won't hear the so called surging noise from allens car from the outside because he doesn't have a forge spacer HOWEVER his car will still make those nooses you think is surge of you were actually sat in his car. It's just slot quieter but still there.
Like I have said a million times before these cars aren't suffering from compressor surge and the noise you are hearing is nothing to worry about.

Howzit Allan, Agree! I will be @ Crail on the first. Will like you to drive my car your self if you would. I know the last time you were in my car there was nothing, this was only because I was driving hard so there was no signs of this.
But no worries will show you on the first we can have a chat about it, not to long though would like to get some races in as well.
