i did and seat charged 25 to code so can start car.
cannot set the unlock part as i remove dthe key lock for security on car before doing this.
so i have x2 flip key that can start the car & open boot but not remote unlock it!! read many a thread on this and seem code for remote is no go, need key in door to do.

you can add the remote part with vag com no need for a key in the door

I went to Timpsons to get my blank blade cut.
The guy said he could cut it, but couldn't guarantee the work because it was not supplied by them, to which I said thats fine.

Got the blade back, look like it had been done by a blind epileptic. Needless to say it wouldn't even go half way in the lock, nevermind open the door.

On the plus side, he didn't charge me for it, probably cos he knew what a crap job he had done.

Do you know if they can supply a flip key type blade, or just the kind in the piccy?

no idea mate... best to ask. i only want this type of key for now as it'll be my 2nd key before i start messing with flip keys

I got one for the bmw which snapped off in the barrell so once bitten twice shy and all that.

Fair enough, thanks for the link.

Be handy if they do thanks to the great work of old butter stumps at Timpsons.

yeah would be handy...

i need to check i the flip keys are good quality really... because the BMW's was very flimsy should have know it would snap.
