Unfortunately life had meant it was covered in the swirly things us Detailers hate so much...

and has seen a rear quarter panel re-spray at some point:

IbizaCupraR11.jpg

First job was to rinse the alloys before using Pinnacle Wheel Gel and my many wheel brush to clean the alloys, arches and edges up. I then snow foam the alloys before giving them a good rinse.

Up to the paintwork, first job a snow foam soak, rinse and a second snowfoam used with the pinnacle bucket, grit guard and dolly to wash the car. A good rinse off and straight into the claying stage. Using Pinnacle Poly Clay and QD, I removed all the surface contamination, before a further snow foam, and rinse and then drying off with a Cobra Guzzler.

Next was the 3m tape and Paint Depth Readings. Due to the hazing on the rear quarter I had a discussion with the owner before attacking it with some 3000 unigrit. It took a couple of hits, and was vastly improved, but for further and absolute accuracy I would have wanted longer on this one panel.

Before:

After:

With the rear quarter vastly improved, I moved to the rest of the car, and using a polishing pad on the rotary with 3m finesse it final finish worked round to imporve the swirling situation.

This was followed with Poorboys Pro Polish, XMT glaze and then Dodo Green. Alloys got sealed with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Selant, tyres with Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel, arches and engine bay with AS finish, exhaust Auto Sol, glass Stoners invisible glass.

The car looks awesome. Ive heard nothing but praise about you work and seeing this Ibiza Cupra R and the Audi A8 You did not to long ago i have to agree

I have a black Ibiza Cupra myself and spend most of my life making it spotless. I noticed you said you used "AS Finish" on the arches and engine bay. What exactly does that do as these seem to be the parts these stand out to be a dull black and still look dirty after i wash mine
Where can i buy this from?

I also have pretty bad stone chips on my bonnet . Are there any products i can buy to help reduce them. I know they wont vanish but the polish just sticks in them and make them stand out.

Sorry its abit on an essay but your advice would be much appriciated

Cheers

Hi John

thanks for the interst.

As Finsih, is autosmart finish, and can be bought from any autosmart rep, but its in 5 litres containers!

As for the stone chips, maybe a touch up pen from Halfords? I'm serious, the new nib type pens are fairly good and very easy just to pop a dot of paint into a chip with.

Ill have to look into the touch up pen. I didnt know if there was some sort of filling polish that was black/dark and would make them less noticable.

Ill try and get hold of some of this Autosmart Finish.

Thanks for the advice

John

i have the same problem after waxing the car the stone chips on my black mk3 beeza cpra are sticking out like a sore thumb, might try some halfords touch up pen to mask a bit of it before painting....

how much was the beeza mk3 to do that for the owner?

Cheers

Hey i Know that Car....

Long after the Original Post....
Thats my Car now:p and i've been looking for any previous owners to get a full list of mods.
When i bought it the previous owner made no mention of some of the mods i found, i.e Forge DV, N249 bypass etc. What else was done (apart from the obvious)?
Thanks in Advance, and thanks for the car - still absolutly brilliant - was in excellent condition when i got it.
