So the mounted Garmin device is awful and I think it's time to install a touchscreen.

After looking at a few threads on here it would seem it is possible to do this but I'm not sure what equipment was used precisely. (Which Andriod system? or which Pioneer system?)

I understand that the hazards etc have to be relocated down to the gear stick, I'm more interested in which device actually fits.

Thanks :)

Most double din will fit but you do have to trim some of the plastic behind the old headunit to get it in, it takes abit of time, i have heard of people buying cheap chinese units that are slighlty bigger than double din should be and have had problems fitting, if you stick to likes of kenwood/pioneer then id say they would all fit. I went for the pioneer sphda230dab and it fits perfect

did you have to move the hazard warning light switch etc, is this a difficult thing to do?

I'm also interested in this if anyone can post pictures or just links to the kit they're using that would be great as I have no idea what I'm doing but the Garmin thing is unusable now I can't download fresh to reset it.

Yeah hazard switch was moved, no not a massive job to do its all plug and play, only thing that takes the time is cutting out behind the old headunit to fit the double din cage in but none of this is seen once fitted so doesnt need to be pretty you can buy all the stuff here including the new hazard button https://incartec.co.uk/Seat/Ibiza-Mk4-6J/Stereo-Upgrade-Double-Din also need a fakra to smb antenna adaptor to keep original dab radio antenna if you have one somthing like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222993554629

I have installed an android headunit recently and I am super happy with it. Its fron Erisin. Bought on aliexpress with delivery from a european warehouse. I have an older ibiza with the old style hazard light switch so it was direct plug and play. Fits right in. No need to trim anything or get new cables and stuff.
Sound is better than original. I use torque pro which is actually very convinient. Google maps work perfectly especially if you can share an internet connection.
