Evening ppl I'm new to all this seat forum.

I have a seat ibiza tdi cupra 160 05reg I have notice that in high gears I put my foot down and the revs goes up and obv engine revs and then it goes and pulls as normal, so my thoughts clutch is slipping but was wondering has anyone had the same proplem or something like this?

Do you have a friend who is mechanically knowledgeable?

If so, get them to ride along and show them what you mean.

Best way to see if it's slipping is 6th gear, uphill and boot it. The engine revs will rise and then fall and rise to match the speed.

Funny enough I think mine is slipping

80 in 6th gear does the trick, however

I did 2 tests and it passed both with flying colours so perhaps its not clutch slip

pulling away in 1st gear with handbreak on and flooring it in a high gear at a low speed

I am on 130,000 thought and its been mapped for at least 20,000

Handbrake on, pop it into 3rd gear, 2000rpm and pull up the clutch. Should jump forward and stall. Make sure you have room in front and not hit the garage door etc!
If the clutch is slipping it will rev up then catch the flywheel and stall.

Sounds like clutch slip. Common on diesels yes.

You'll need to replace clutch and good practice says you should replace flywheel too. Its a dual mass flywheel which adds to the overall cost of this job.

A good indie can do the whole job for £700? Parts are about £400
