I have a seat leon which was a 1.4, it has a cupra R body kit, 18 inch konig alloys, golf gti interior, good sound system ect... the car looked great but the engine was shocking and the cams needed replacing so i thought it was time for a new engine. Did some searching and decided to go for something different and as i couldn't find a leon anywhere on the net with a 2.3 v5 i went for that. Found the engine and box locally and cheap. Spent the next two weeks finding and collecting the wiring, drive components and everything else. I had a local mechanic doing the work for me after his work hours and tbh it wasn't as straight forward as he had first thought but after a couple of weeks and some other unexpected new parts the cars on the road and it was well worth it. It has a nice amount of power (i know not as much as you lot in the 300+bhp curpa's but i also don't have to worry about replacing my turbo as some point
another thing is th car sounds amazing it has a v5 downpipe welded to a new cupra R exhaust, sounds just like a turbo scooby. Next on the to do list is a remap. All in this work, including all parts and labour has come to around £1000 maybe slightly less. To all who said it couldn't be done..... it has, and it's great
