Hi,:)
I have a Seat Leon 1M, 1.6, 16v, petrol 103bhp, 77kW. Engine: BCB
I'm having some problems with my preaty little car's engine. Seems like it's having some problems starting. Or better said it starts just fine, but if i don't give it some gas right away, the engine stops (or not, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't). As far as i can tell it's no difference if the engine is hot or cold. Also i'm using an original Vag-com interface and i've been watching the rpm's in idle mode. As far as i can gather from chanel 2 on the engine module the rpm in idle mode is set to 853 but either i increase it or not, in the measuring blocks it always stays at around 750.

P.S. Could also use a login code for the engine module. Searched the web for hours but couldn't find one.
P.P.S. I'm not sure if i posted in the right section for this. If not I appologise, kindda newbie around here.

Regards,
Can't wait to hear from u guys/gals

I checked them but no joy. Besides, if it were the coil packs the engine should act up while running normaly. It doesn't, therefor i'm guessing coil packs are fine.
I was thinking it's the fuel pump, but i don't know a method to check its pressure. It works, but i'm guessing maybe it doesn't have enough pressure. I noticed that if i turn ignition on and let the pump get the fuel in twice before starting the engine, it doesn't stop anymore.
Also i have just noticed an error on the Lambda Bank 1. Could it be an air intake correction problem because the Lambda sensor?

A failing coil might have trouble firing for ignition purposes when cold but be symptomless when running. At least for a few months.

If you pull out the coils, you should be able to spot if any are white and crusty.

Is your Lambda fault giving you a EML?

throttle body? known to get gunked up. the throttle never fully closes as to allow the car to idle, any oil from the breathers in this gap can cause the problem your describing

Thank you Azza. I just cleaned the throttle body a couple of weeks ago. Though I had some problems with adaptation and some nasty errors cutting my throttle alltogether, it seems the problem with starting has been resolved and now it works like a charm.
