how did people cut out the rear coin tray in centre console thats the only thing am worried about as i dont want to do any serious damage

what the difference from the Manafacturers one, is there a manafacturers one ?.... reason i ask is i saw a nice leather one that a bloke said is the original one from seat that needed no cutting etc...
