Could someone confirm what the paint warranty on Seats is
6 years?
Reason being we have an Onvi yellow Beeza and panels have faded, to the point now where it looks like the car has been in Stevie Wonders bodyshop to have accident damage done (which it never has...)
I have had a professional valeter mate of mine have a go on it, and even G3 or G6 couldnt do anything with it. The general conscensious seems to be that the flat yellow has faded under the lacquer.
I know others have had issues with Onvi yellow fading. Has anyone had Seat honour paintwork outside of the manufacturers warranty period and got them to pay for anything?

The issue is that the paint has faded below the lacquer. No amount of polishing or graft will sort that, short of getting some uber fine grade sandpaper and taking the lacquer off to revive the paint, which is not only risky, but just plain stupid!
I've had a valeter on it. Its been polished, waxed, taken off, cleaned, G3'd, G6'd, buffed, mopped, everything on it, and it hasnt made a blind bit of difference.
Oh well, I might just pop down to the dealer and see what they have to say, maybe get a goodwill or paint warranty claim approved as it really is letting down an otherwise perfect car.

let us know how u get on matey as im interested in this as my bonnets faded , makes the car looks like its been in a acciedent and had a dodgy paint match

Paint and Bodywork Guarantee
Leon and Toledo models registered from 01/01/2000, and new Ibiza and new Cordoba benefit from a three year warranty against paintwork manufacturing defects. The warranty against paintwork manufacturing defects on all other models is one year. The bodywork of all Arosa, new Ibiza, new Cordoba, Leon and Toledo models is fully galvanised and benefits from a 12 year anti-perforation warranty. The anti-perforation warranty for all other models is six years.

Not looking like I have a good case, especially as the last service was done at an independent not the stealers anyway. Oh well, worth a trip down there at the weekend to kick up some stink about it!

I also cant believe no one has had a confrontation with the dealer about this issue and is prepared to share the outcome with...
Anyone?

I never heard of this. Mine has faded, wonder if i can blag a respray!!!!

Mines faded a bit too, always serviced by SEAT Newbury, what are the chances of a respray then 50/50 or no chance

My issues were dealt with under the standard 3 year warranty but with the added complication of a dealer damaging the car when in for a service. The result was there was more paint on some parts of the car then others which didnt help. The plastics will always look worse on the Ovni cars as time goes on as they're sprayed seperately to the car in the factory.
Good luck in getting it sorted, you'll need a sympathetic dealer and a huge amounts of patience. Be polite and calm and see how it goes

ive got to get mine sorted before i sell it or trade it in , ive hit some areas hard with t-cut and it done jack ****, have got a pc but no cuttting compound man enough to do the job, and im not sure how far i can go before i ruin the paint, really need someone to do it for me (proffesional) with all the proper gear and paint depth gauges, anyone know who would/can do it in essex/suffolk area?

if the paintwork on your car has faded then is should polish up,the colour wont have faded under the laquer as the colour is protected by the laquer, most modern cars are all painted in base coat form to prevent solid colour cars from fading,if you take the car back to the dealer and they measure the paint and the paint isnt all the same depth then they will probably just chase you and use the excuse that the cars paintwork has been damaged by polishing even though this isnt the case.i own a bodyshop so i know this is the case.

My LCR is the same body work is different shade to the plastic parts i.e. bumpers spoiler fuel cap pain in the crack!
