I agree entirely with your comments that the system is limited and a road atlas is probably just as good at a fraction of the price.
I was beginning to think that its operation was impaired by my advanced age or lack of brain cells!
When using it recently it found a short cut I would never have dreamed of - although it took twice as long and was 50% longer!! I think they call it the scenic route - Best wishes

The RNS-310 is a proper crap unit... Not a shade on the RNS-510.

To be fair, when new the 510 was 3 times the price of the 310. It cost me £575 and that included bluetooth which was £240 on its own.

Post code search? No.

Something I've just found out; it will search for all but the last two letters of a postcode (i.e., M60 2..), then give the streets in that postal area. A bit better.
