Seat servicing plan

Picked up the new car yesterday, yay!

As expected the dealer tried to flog various stuff, but one that may be interesting was the servicing plan.

3 years/30k miles cover for £480 (if I pay up front, or £20 pm) which supposedly includes breakdown cover.

Given I'm paying £100pa to the RAC at the moment, I could knock that off the servicing price which makes it seem more sensible.

Have you any experience with the SEAT breakdown cover that comes with the servicing plan? Any idea how good it is, what it actually covers (eg home fix or just tow to garage etc)?

Of course it's more likely the car would get recall work done if the serving were done by a SEAT garage rather than an independent I'd imagine.

The last 2 seats I bought came with 2 or 3 years breakdown cover included and I thought that was the norm... But I might be wrong! People seem to get service plans for around £10-12 a month.

i got a deal to pay 12.99 over 30 payments for my 10 20 and 30k services

seen various deals around, 2 years free, 2 years for 49, 3 years for 99 depends on dealer you use as they all franchised

My 184 ST Leon costs £9.86 a month for 36 months and gives three services over 36000 miles / 3 years (£169, £199 & £139 at current prices.)
Standard new car breakdown cover is for 2 years and has been like this for new Seats for many years (since at least 2006 to my knowledge). Current servicing offer gives you a years breakdown cover if you book your service online anyway, although my local dealer has always done this anyway with my last Seat even though I just booked via the phone.

New Leons come with 2 years of breakdown cover, which is pretty comprehensive as cover goes:
