Guys, I am about to fit a Dension Ice Link Plus in my 55 Plate Toledo 2.0 TDi Sport and although I can find the clip key entry holes, I am not sure which keys I need to buy. I have seen some on ebay but am not entirely sure which to get.
Never taken ours out (sure it's been covered before though) but to set your mind at rest ... you don't need keys
Seems the mk2 Leon boys (and girls) are taking a panel out of the top of the glovebox to get to the back of the radio - doesn't help in getting the radio out, but sounds like you don't have to
Thanks for the response, but as I have to fit a dashmount for the ipod cradle, I need to remove the head unit. I have been recommended some keys so I'll pick them up tomorrow.
look really carefully at the very edge of the head unit (assuming you have the double din mp3 head unit) there are 4 thin slots 2 on the top (at the vertical edge) and 2 at the bottom corners on the curve. I would imagine a torch shone onto the unit may assist as I did not find them easily.
Got some one else to fit mine for a reasonable price what we did was as follows
Use 4 plastic potting sticks (any garden center b&q etc) These are strong enough to flick the catches and pull the unit out a little. Then use something mettalic and thin to leaver the unit out.
Take off the cap at the end of the dash on the passenger side (if mounting in glovebox) This is to help feed the wire from the head unit
There is a piece of plastic in the glove box (in mine anyway) where a interior light would be snap out half of this to feed the wire into the glove box.
Once connected attach the black cable on the ICE ink to the brown earth cable on the HU cable
there is a good gap at the bottom behing where the HU goes that will easily take the ICE link and stop it rattling about.
Place the end cap back on and put it all back together.
20 minute job tops.
If you are putting the iPOD on a cradle of something I think the glovebox will have to come out as there are no gaps available.
If its the same as the mark 2 head units, I've put a link to an appropriate Ebay auction in a post over there. Go to the Mk1/2 forum, and have a look at 'MP3 into satnav' post.
