Second gear is very "crunchy" when cold - why?

Crunch into 2nd when cold, its well annoying, mine does it too!

Same, my car has only done 6k! Better when warm and when you do slow change.

Well, well! This thread has risen from the dead!

When I saw this thread just now, I thought to myself: "Ooh, my gearbox used to do that", then discovered that it's my thread!

Now that mine's got 60,000 miles on the clock, it's much smoother. And I never did change the oil or do anything to it - I think it has just matured well!
