ive been looking at the blanking plugs for this and i was wondering if its worth removing it?

also is there a guide etc for this on a cupra 180. thanks

well jut noticed forge were selling the blanking plugs, was wondering if there are any performance gains by removing it

To be honest with you i wouldnt have thought so as it only works when the engine is started from cold. The function of it is to heat up the cat to normal running temp very quickley so it can work efficiently.

And the removal can sometimes cause fault codes to do with lambda probes, cat and secondary air flow.

Yep, I bought the forge plate as I was going to remove mine but while I was removing it I noticed the rivetts that hold the 2 parts of the pump together had failed so I fixed it instead.

Did you not fancy having that 'fighter jet' sound when you started it up in the morning???

Same here. I'm starting to think about removing all that crap ;D

It sounded more like a 20 years old diesel than a fighter jet. ;p

yeah, i have looked into it and apparantly fitting resistors into the circuit keeps the engine light off, just not sure if its worth it
