ally may need to meet up next time im up your way if possible bud ?

Certainly! Would be good to put faces to names and have a chat. I'm in Falkirk, not hard to find from either the M8 or M9. Give me a yell when you're up and I could even take you out for a spin. I'll PM you either on here or "there" LOL

I need new tyres first though - I was out booting it around on Sunday in the wet and only tonight noticed the wear on my tyres...

personally recommend the phase 2 Ibiza FR tdi over the cupra all the way.

The problem is you'd then need a FMIC, decent brakes (either Brembos/APs or a 312mm setup at the least) and maybe suspension to keep the body under control. A conservative guess would be an extra 1k on top if you include a remap to get to around standard Cupra power figures. On top of that you'd then need to insure it and declare all the mods. Overall, I doubt you'd see much difference between the two and a modified FR would be harder to shift than a standard Cupra in the mainstream market.

i take it with the ap 4 pots up front they stop much better than the vrs as tbh i found the braking in teh vrs while not bad it didnt inspire confidence when pushing on they just seemed to have no feel :(

economy whats it like with 160hp compared to the 130. the gf once managed 70mpg out of the vrs i never really got more than about 60 usually mid 50's

the boot how big is it compared to teh fabia considering they are the same platform are they the same size ? split fold rear seat i take it ?

im getting into wanting practical features these days im getting old ;)

is it climate control or just a/c ?

cruise control is it standard ? or is it yet again new stalk and a quick go with vag com ?

what tyre size do they wear ?

any reliability problems with teh 160 that arnt there on the 130 engine ?

ride quality whats it like ? is it as front heavy and liek to understear as much as the vrs ?

anything else i should know ?

oh is it variable servicing or is it vag's stupid 10k and 12 months service schedule again ?

im running a little late cos i have been out for work..

4 pot brakes - they brake really well... except the stand pads and disc are how can i put it.... i think u would be better using a china plate instead of the disc supplied.

defo need the rear spacers... TRUST me... the front when the brakes go on digs in and the rear steps out. had this at 30mph.

mpg.. mines remapped from ptorque.. was a weak map 190bhp (was higher but i had to knock it back due to black smoke and company car) 300lb torque still tho.... ill be honest i rag the sh!t out my car 80% of the time.. but my trip to work is 45 miles. ill hit over a tonne twice and then cruise at about 55 - 60 mph on the single carrage way. i get 55mpg daily.

yes split folding rear seats. boot space... i have no idea i never looked at a fabia

climate control i believe i dunno i never switch it on.

cruise control not standard

never had a problem with mine except it wouldnt start once no one knew why but it fixed it self. a few hours later.

understeer and lift off oversteer if u push WAY to hard lol

same service im affraid.
