Yes. Out of the factory they all come with the VW 507 spec "Long Life Oil". Dealers may use the slightly lower spec (VW 504) oil if you change to the fixed service interval.

Your usage sounds the same as mine. I'll be doing an oil/filter change around 5-6k miles, given that a new engine is likely to contaminate the oil more during this initial phase.
By the first official service at 2 years then it'll have done another 10-12k miles, I'll have saved some money, run the engine on a sensible oil change schedule and minimised the dealer's opportunity to screw something up!

The VW 507 is the specification of the oil, of which some brands just about meet and others exceed.

The 5W30 is how thin/thick the oil is.

Hi Guys I have a 64 2014 plate 1.4 TSI ACT 150 sitting on 9800 miles, i am going to put my car in next week for it's first service, is my warranty gubbed ? i just couldn't accept putting it in after a year having covered less than 7K.... Cheers

Ta. Looked it up and the Castrol Edge 5W30 seems to crop up a fair amount so looks like a good one to get.

I think the SEAT warranty states cars are to be seen at 10,000m or 1 Year whatever comes first, with 1000m/1 month leeway. don't know about longlife service intervals as I have always went in once a year, is it maybe on that schedule.

My 1.4 FR is due its first service soon.

It's on a flexible service (confirmed by Seat) which is 20,000 miles or 1 year (initially) and 2 years thereafter. This is what Seat tell me.

I've not heard of the 1 year for new cars until now, but the service display does give this figure (will be due exactly 1 year to the day from when purchased). The mileage still has plenty left, but is roughly 20000 - current mileage. So, this seems to add up.

Anyone else heard of one 1 year when on flexible? Also, anyone got a link to where it states acceptable overrun? I'm likely to be a few days beyond 1 year and want to make sure warrenty/lease company is happy.
