I was in two minds wether to use the dealers or an independant. I found VOLKSPARTS in Durham who have been specializing in VAG cars for over 20 years. They were the cheapest around by at least £50. £123 for my Cupra's first service. It took them an hour while I waited and I was made a cup of coffee too. Can't fault them!!!
Having tried the other north east dealers i now use s g petch seat in durham ,good service they always have a look at what you ask them too, good prices and they always have courtesy cars available .Would always want full manufacturers service history personally.

£193! Whats included in the 2nd service.....thought it was the same as the first?
I know its been discussed before but I was surprised at the difference in servicing costs between the major dealers. Pulman Seat wanted £175 for basically doing an oil change!
That's one of the reasons why mines being traded in tomorrow. My car has been a real joy to own and the running costs have been very low and the cambelt would have need changing also in March with less than 30,000miles would seem daft. Years ago when I had a Golf MKIV it was done twice the ago and mileage.
Back on topic though Arnold Clark have looked after me and the Cupra for the last three years with no major concerns. However I didn't like the fact when they centralised all the servicing at the Ford service centre. I suppose its a way of cutting costs.
Cheers for the replies. I'll take a look at the ones mentioned
MPG wise - I don't do many motorway miles, so it varies. I can get about 37 or so urban
Funny thing happened actually last week - was averaging about 36mpg or so, but went on holiday for two weeks, and left the car on the drive. Came back on Saturday, and the average mpg counter haddropped to about 30, but is slowly going back up? Any theories?
