The new b5 v3 tip is out very soon. All in one silicone but larger bore over the sfs tip. Cost wise its going to be pretty much on par with the sfs. The badger 5 v3 should kill the market off should the other companies decide not to make another.

So £120 for the V3 Sam, right? If it's to be competitive.. ;)

Doubt it will 'kill off' the market lol joker  Most people have TIP's now on the ageing K04's.

Tom you had the **** V1 which doesn't compare at all to the new V2s and V3

Same billet adapter mate...

V2's needed cutting, poor angle of fitment off airbox/flter setup. Main difference was the hoses coming off the TIP being moulded to the main body. Considering it cost quite a bit more than he SFS I was disappointed to see a fair few threads with people moaning about the fit... My SFS went on like a glove and I was told the B5 had more r'n'd done?! It should fit easy 1st time if it's to be the most expensive option on the market..

Anyway I'm happy now with what I've got and so is my car :)

Sorry but what is a TIP?

turbo intake pipe, runs from the airbox down to the turbo feeding it with air.

Upgrade TIP's allow more air to flow down to the turbo creating more airflow g/s as a result and more power... The standard one is a restriction in the system :)

Unlike a silicone company, bill had to source everything. Fabricate in house with no mass production, almost custom work. The centre piece took time to make, billet parts always cost mega bucks, then he had to buy the silicone. 3 different parts from 3 different places. Thats why it wasnt cost effective, but it was a mod where money didnt matter because you just wanted the best out of your car. I still use a v1 and im more than happy with it.
The v2.2 and v3 look awesome in the flesh. Also remembering its 17% larger bore than the sfs.

So what's different now how has he cut those costs so dramatically for the V3's release?

I'm sure it will flow loads of air and do the job well, I'm just bemused by the price difference that's all dude.

I guess he has a good supplier making his tip :)
After talkin to bill on the weekend, he claims the v2.2 and v3 are very close interms of performance but the v2.2 is just a little better.

How comes the V3 isn't as good as the V2.2?

Would have thought it would improve with each version. What is better, airflow, bore?

Cool, thanks for letting me know. Is it a worthwhile modification for a standard car.
