Hi people...Can you help ( reassure) I just finished doing the 02m shim mod on my 54 LCR. Took me a while if I'm honest as I had to deal with plastic trim and didn't have the correct tools. Anyway it's done now but only concern is that when it came to replacing new end cap, it wouldn't sit back in flush with the casing. It's only out by about a mill but now I'm a little paranoid as my gearbox wasn't too bad in the first place but did the mod anyhow as read for the cost it's worth it for the pro longing of gearbox.
Can't take it out for a test drive as My callipers are still wet! Thought while wheel was off I'd refurb them too.
Cheers guys...

Yes mate. Don't know whether I just didn't hit it hard enough or maybe no play or room inside the casing. Worried now that I've made a problem out of nothing!
Was hitting pretty hard with hammer tho.

Did the circlip snap back in place as I didn't have quite enough play in the shaft with the shim fitted for it to sit back in the casing?so took it out will prob try again this summer
