Balance weight is reworked and shorter (i think that's right)

Have a look at mine at the next meet if you like, maybe you could fab something up with the old one ;)

so can you use the standard one if you re thread it? And if you get a aftermarket one, do you have to get one which works with push down reverse or is there a simple way around this?

You could simply extend the thread a couple of inches down the gear lever (easier that starting a new thread) but you might have fun finding a die the right size.

If you get an aftermarket one (held on with grub screws) then it'll work fine (the push down reverse is nothing to do with the gear-knob on these cars) :)

Wait. Im being stupid. Its only different for lift up reverse isnt it?

I was talking about this one http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_details.asp?app=29|G4&type=3&ltype=ns_euro&p_id=460

Didn't even know they did a whole set up like that

yup, its just cars like Vaux**l that use the crappy LIFT UP reverse mechanism that need a different knob.

Have a look at some richmond ones, they make some nice decent looking ones and won't break the bank.

Think the cable ends are the same but tower locations are slightly different and work differently.

We tried using the 02A cables on the 02J box and something wasn't working correctly.

Can always rob bits off mine at some point and trial fit to yours if you like
