hey guys, i went to have a look at a 54reg leon cupra tdi150 today, i was very im pressed with the car, it was "pokey" and handled well too. the car has covered 39k with full service history.Bodywork is fantastic and the interior is unmarked, the dealer wanted £7995 but i managed to get him down to £7600 including a valet, cam belt change (does it need a waterpump too?) and sort problem out with the central locking (unlock on the key only opens drivers door -even when pressed twice, the lock button locks all the doors ). basically i just need reassuring that the car will hold money and the pricfe is about right, i have searched an found plenty of bying guides for the petrol model but none for the diesel- is there anything major to check?
regards
jake

Good car, I love mine. That seems quite cheap, paid £10k for mine 18 months ago with 20k miles on a 55 plate. But no car will hold its money, unless you go for a classic. Go for it.

Sounds like a good deal to me, I paid 10k for my 55plate 150FR+ 2yrs ago. They do hold their money very well. FSH, hpi check, a good look round and test drive is the most anyone can really do. They don't suffer from any major probs, someone will prob pipe up about the central locking thing and say it's an easy fix. Cambelt is 50k or 5yrs which ever is soonest. I love mine and have enjoyed every day of ownership. A friend had a 150cupra for two years and he too had trouble free motoring from 45k - 70k before selling up.
