Should I buy this 130 FR?

Went to look at an Ibiza 130 FR today that is already modded, has been remapped, straight through exhaust and lowered on coil overs. Only thing that concerns me is there is a dyno printout that shows well over 300lbs of torque but only 160bhp. I thought they were capable of up to 190 so why is this so low? Almost going ahead with it but just unsure on this, any help would be appreciated thanks!

How much are you saying is well over 10ftlbs or 50ftlbs?

Stage 1 is usually between 165-175 bhp, much more than that is dyno over reading or stage 2 - 3 mapping. Supporting mods such as front mount inter cooler, hybrid/big turbo, clutch etc are needed for more than stage 1

Not exactly sure how much over it was, just thought it should have more bhp for a stage 1 remap, what could this mean? That the guy wanted a map designed more for torque?

From experience I would rather buy one standard and do it yourself. At least you know what has been messed around with. Is the owner selling car due problems and not saying????. Not trying to put you off buying it but be cautious unless its from someone you know.

Found out it's actually at 169 bhp and at about 305lbs torque, I did think of doing it all myself but you can end up paying more for a lower mileage car that hasn't been abused or had anything done to it, then on top of that you have to spend money doing all the mods so just seems more reasonable to get one thats already had it all done.

dyno lottery is all i can say, the figures are pretty much meaningless in some respects,

theres a car on here thats apprently producing 183bhp and 365ft/lb or torque on a custom map, its very very very unlikely to be a true figure as they all read different.

As said before do the same basic checks on the car and go with your gut instinct on if the cars been looked after or abused, personally, id only by a modded car if i knew the owner, seen to many case go tits up as they were previously owned by chavs

Hi mate, I have a stage 1 map producing 165bhp and 280lb/ft, I have spoken to a few tuning companies such as jabba, amd, p-torque etc...and they said using a custom map they could get 180bhp and around 300lb/ft, so the figures you say are not that unrelaistic in my opinion.
I also spoke to TX Autosport, they quoted me 190bhp and up to 320lb/ft providing i got an uprated clutch, or they could limit the torque to 300 to suit the standard clutch, so maybe if they can limit the torque they can also up the torque compard to the bhp, im not sure how it works though. But i doubt I'll be going for this as I've read the standard turbo is going to die within miles of producing over 180bhp. Hope this helps.

Ive been told by numerous places the turbos only good for 170 realistically.

When I had mine mapped, i had 184.5bhp /150Whp with 306ftlb.. had it mapped back down because i was shredding my clutch.. god knows what figures I have now.
