My car. 1.2 55 plate ibiza, I pay £1650 insurance for.. Just got a quote on a brand new ibiza cupra and its £50 more?
How does this make sense that a car 3 times the power is £50 more :L

Now to come up with £12,000

Sounds a lot like most of the insurance companies out there tbh! Lol i still envy how my first cars insurance was £1500 :/ the same as the cost of the fookin car!

£12k? Massive loan maybe?! Lol

Does some of the price depend on how many claims that type of car has had on that company so a new car would score vlow on that too.

The insurance companies come up with your price based on the percentage of people your age who write off that model, so new cars are usually cheap (ish)

Plus it's not always how much your car is worth, it's how likely you are to crash into something worth a lot more. :)

They messed up the mk5 cupra's insurance group, same car as the boc but alot lower group.

haha when i tried to get insured with tesco on my 52 plate ibiza tdi 130, im 19 and the guy on the phone said they couldnt insure me because the ibiza is classed as a 'WARM' hatch. What the hell is a warm hatch?!!! cooperative then provided a <£1000 because they are more sensible unlike tesco the silly poeople

Warm hatch- the term given that comes over the insurer when he fleeces the unassuming and shocked customer of 1500of the queens finest pounds. As in warm, smug feeling!

My cupra 20v turbo is 520 fully comp and all my engine mods. Sky insurance (performance car broker) sweet ill av a bag of that
