Single Wiper Conversions.

Im looking into a single wiper conversion and I am hoping for some information about it.

I know of 2 members who have one, Ibiza_95 and GtiKezz have them.

I am thinking of getting one as I like the way that it cleans up the front of the car.

Questions:

1) Does the kit bolt to all the existing mounting points on the car where the normal wiper motor is and the wiring all fit in no problem?

2) What is the window cleaning like on it? Does it clean the window well, especially in the winter?

3) Have people just used the normal washer jets that are on the bonnet or have they used the kit that clips onto the single wiper?? I may do that and smooth out the washer jets on the bonnet.

4) What happens when it comes to buying a new wiper blade? Just buy one like you usually would or are they custom parts that you have to get from storm?

Sorry for the essay but I want to clear up a few things before I get one, which probably wont be until after xmas.

Yep, storm kit includes a new mechanism to attach to the motor. It's easy enough to fit.

It's not too bad, everything's visible. Obviously doesn't get as much of the windscreen compared to standard.

My washer jets are deleted so I have the storm washer thing, its not all that but just about does its job. I'd think of another method if I did it again, mk4 ibiza washer jets maybe?

Bog standard wiper blade, its only a small one.

Have to say I quite like that now, think it cleans up the front rather well.

Could you get away with 2 of the Storm washer things, one top and bottom? And whats different about the mk4 Ibiza jets?

Bog standard wiper blade, its only a small one.
Would you be able to put a slightly bigger blade on it?? This would inturn clear alittle bit more of the windscreen.

Anyone got under bonnet pics of this kit fitted? Im considering getting one too.... just interested to see how they look under the bonnet.....

Where would be the best place to purchase one of these kits? And is there not a problem with MOT? i.e. wiper cleaning insufficient?

you cant see it under the bonnet, looks like a factory fit part too, really good quality from storm... and customer service is top notch too...
try look on ebay from a seller called storm or similar

ive had mine years, and its only just started to be problematic at the bearings, but still works fine

Think I am definetely going to get one of these after xmas and be one of my firsts mods of next year.

Yep thats what I have noticed aswell. And Im just looking for something a little different or smoother for the front.

im probably going to 'try' fix it first, as all it needs is some new plastic bearings, but might try my hand with welding it up and just having it a dry steel joint :/

if i take it to bits tho ill get some traces made of the parts for you mate
