Coming from a scooby with Goodyear Eagle F1's I was used to stunning traction wet or dry. However, yesterday in my LCR the roads were pretty wet and round a few roundabouts, where I was taking it quite easy as I'm still getting used to the car and just being careful, I had some very noticeable slides. Is this just down to my Kumho tyrees?

I know these are cheap tyres and am just curious as to how much of the sliding was due to them, or just being in a two wheel drive LCR - but as I said I was being pretty careful... I'd appreciate your opinions.

most probably down to the tyres, especially if they're not new.
it could just be down to your driving style, and being used to 4wd..

i'll put my money on both, with the tyres being the main culprit. F1s are one of the best tyres money can buy and kumhos, well, aren't..

Hi mate ,id agree tyres were to blame ,

ive recently put some dunlops sp sport maxxs on my 03 LC and i am pleased with them, good price and 100% better than the standard bridgestones you get, especilly in wet/greasy conditions and in the dry they there awsome for my style of driving .altho the power flex DBM ive just fitted has made it even better !!! struggle to get the tc light on now :D it just grips and gos lol. and cornering is much improved it feels real positive when pushing hard looking for the limit .

hope this helps mate

Thanks for the replies.

I understand the traction differences for accelleration between 2/4 wheel drive, but was just suprised by my 4 wheel slides on the roundabouts.

Unfortunately, the tyres have loads of life left in them so I guess I'll stick it out until they need replacing then go for Goodyears.
