Slow Windscreen wiper help please?

Bit of advice required from people who know more than me please. I have an '03 Ibiza, but when I switch on the wipers they are really SLOOOWWWW.

After I have been driving for a while they speed up to normal. Is the motor about to give up the ghost do you think. Seems unusual for a not so old car if this is the case.

Any help would be very appreciated.

I would guess the motor mate, pretty much all it can be. Bit weird that its correcting itself though

Thanks for the response. That's what I thought. Any ideas on cost for this type of part. I'm hoping it's less than £100 fitted as I've got the dreaded MOT due.

check for seized wiper linkage - it was a fault on ibiza mk2, leon mk1 and alhambra. becoming common now on ibiza mk3. there are 2 rods which pivot on nylon bushes to move the wipers and these can seize and load up the motor til it burns out. rods only cost about £13 each. worth a look

Cheers mate - at the moment they are so slow, but access is a nightmare to them. Looks like all the plastic surround needs to come off, and this is bonded to the windscreen!

Thanks mate. I have a mate in the trade. I'm going to ask him to check it out tomorrow morning, but in the meantime I'm hoping that it doesn't rain. I work 30 miles from home!
