I was going to call it size isn't everything but people would get the wrong idea:

Raval and Cupra get quite a plug at the end. Mention "made in the EU policy". Interesting read on this Sunday.

@Tell - thanks for posting. Agree, it is an interesting read.

It’s good to see that the small car is alive and kicking and will continue to be in the EV era. I see so many single occupant large SUV’s (ICE and EV) on the roads in my neck of the woods, or where there is more than one occupant they’re often just being used on the school run. In my village, many of those school runs are by mothers who live locally and could be done on foot; kinder to the planet and a much healthier option for the mothers and children in their bloated, oversized SUV’s.

It’s very likely my next car will be a small, EV as I don’t need anything larger, most of my journeys are 70 miles or less so a real world range of 180-200 miles will be more than enough for me, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to charge at home. I also think that many small cars have much more character and charm (e.g. Cupra Raval, Renault R5 and Twingo, Fiat 500) than large SUV’s. Being old (🤣) I also have a free bus pass that I make use of when I need to go into the nearby city; removes the need to drive - or pay exorbitant parking charges - in a city that the local council seems have gone out of their way to make very car-unfriendly over the past 4-5 years. I accept that small won’t suit everyone though, especially for families with 2 or more children and all the associated paraphernalia that needs to be carried (car seats, buggies etc.).
