cheers

As said sounds like your clutch slipped. Not a bright thing to do if you have a stock clutch specially if it is remapped.Only way to really tell if there is any damage is to take the clutch out and look but best thing to do is keep driving and hope it doesnt happen again.

I had a clutch go in a previous car - amusing for a little while its like driving an auto you floor it and its as if you get kick down........but not so amusing when your wallet gets spanked when you have to replace it.

Put it in 5th gear and floor it up a hill. If it slips, the clutch is bugger'd.

I bet most of the cars on this forums would slip the clutch in such situation.

A good burn won't ruin your clutch, just short its life a bit. So don't worry, and no, you don't have to take it out to examinate it. If it keeps slipping [which won't happen] then it's gone but I really doubt you've shot it.

But don't do that again!!

the small is fairly stong isnt it.... i had my box let go in my polo couple yrs ago, lost 1st, 2nd & reverse had to slip the clutch in 3rd to get it going (1.3L engine) up a slight gradiant burnt the clutch out pretty badly it turned blue but they had to replace it cos they broke it when replacing my gear box hehe....

My PD130 would properly just bog down n then finally gain life.... *stock engine, non of this remapping lark lol....
