i have same problem mate, had it a while only smokes when hot, after its been reved. fine when driving boosting etc

still have it mate had it for about 4 months fitted another turbo was ok for week and its doing it again but the old turbo shaft had loads of play in, heard could be pcv blocked or even blocked airfilter can do it!, gota try these thoughts

this is from vwvortex;
i would check your PCV system i had a similar problem and it was a plugged hose on the PCV system. when the car is idleing the rings are relaxed because your pulling vacuume allowing you to suck oil in if there is a build up of pressure in the block if the PCV line is plugged up.

i think i have the exact same problem, a small amount of smoke when the engine is warm sometimes when cold, but seems to be fine when driving and boosting. So ye wot is the pcv system exactly ?

sorry just done the research, pcv stands for (Positive Crankcase Ventilation), unburnt fuel vapours sometimes collect in the crack case so the pcv system vents these gases up and back into the inlet manifold so that they can be burnt. what i dont understand is how having this blocked would cause smoke, can someone explain as im not very experienced with this type of thing? also which is the pvc pipe so that i could check if its blocked or not ?
