My ibiza recently started shuddering on idle and very slow speeds in 1st is even worse.

Quite a loss of power as well. Used to get "X mph" up a hill near me now I get "X-15 mph" Which is very very noticeable when overtaking even at slower speeds and it's annoying as I'm not getting the fun out of my car anymore

My EGR Valve looks manky according to my pal and with vag-com it shows the egr valve on 85% on idle (Don't know what all this really means I know a little bit) and it smokes quite a bit if I boot it. Are these related to the EGR valve do you think? If so I was thinking of the EGR delete kit you get on ebay for £60 to sort it, anyone tried these kits, I know the EML light comes on but doesn't bother me as hopefully in the future I shall get her re-mapped

i assume your up around the 80k mark or higher?

i would advise removing the inlet manifold and egr and giving it all a good clean out, its probably pretty clogged up

You're 400 miles out 80400 miles yup. Would be awesome if that restored my power but I doubt it. Worth cleaning or better spending £60 on a egr blank kit?

its probably more the inlet manifold than the egr but certainly a combination of them both, but an egr delete is always going to be worthwhile to keep the pipes clearer.

i would buy one and clean the inlet manifold out at the same time, its fiddley but doesnt take too long.

may be worth investing in an oil catch tank too

how many owners has the car had? if its been driven 'sensibly' im sure its going to be well clogged up

Ah I see. Thanks for the advice. I'll get one ordered. It's had 3 owners including me, I get a feeling from me having it the last owner didn't hang about and a bit of a "c u next tuesday really." I don't hang about but I drive "sensibly" and have my moments. I'll give the inlet manifold a clean also then. Would be so nice if this was the answer to my loss of power problem. I doubt it will help the shudder/ kind of missfire I'm getting at very slow speeds in 1st and on idle :S
