Lots of you have done it and over xmas I'm going to smooth my airbox on my LCR. What is the biggest cold air feed in terms of diameter size without relocating the battery and been able to fit it into the front grille aperture where the oem one sits currently please? Also where is the best place to buy this cold feed as everybody seems to stock them, but which are best? I've heard the smoother the inside of the pipe the better the airflow???

i bought a duct hose from halfords £6 think 4inch it is, which is the biggest

left it the same size not hard to do just patiants to smooth out

go for a heavy duty PVC green cold air feed.

without the use of battery relocation brackets from "Feel" (about £20) the biggest/best size to go for is 80mm

otherwise do what i did... battery relocation brackets and a 104mm cold air feed! :)

hope this helps!

Did you leave the hole in the airbox the same size or enlarge it?

i enlarged it to get the 104mm feed to fit! :)

not sure about the 80mm feed, but i do know the hole is more of a curved rectangle/oval rather than round!

so an 80mm feed will have to be shaped into place i guess... where as i cut the hole pretty much bang on, and squeezed the 104mm feed in and made it air tight from the inside... (do a search on modified airbox by me! ;))

Oh yeah i definately see the similar principal, it was more that the comparison above seemed to refer to the difference between the cupra and lcr air boxes, i was jsut pointing out ures was an ibiza box not a leon cupra box

whoops, didn't realise its was a beeza... was still right tho... i called it a cupra airbox and it is! ;)

but yes, of course the principle is the same! :)

That's brilliant matey I'm going to have a go at it. Your photos have sold the idea to me. Any tips on what I should use to smooth the box down? Sand paper/dremel etc....

That cold air feed is huge. Looks like it's about to swallow your arm :)

James you think it's worthwhile changing the hose to a samco hose like you have as well at the same time?

to smooth the box i first used a sharp wire cutter style plier to cut the plastic ridges every cm, i then used normal pliers to pull the cut sections out, i then used a dremel, then moved onto a sanding machine which saves a lot of time on the top half of the box and then finally finished it off with sandpaper. took 3 hours from memory to do just the top half, but i was hung over!

getting an uprated TIP is worth it if you run an aggressive map, as the OEM TIP is know to collapse under high boost... look on the forge website for a vid of one collapsing on a rolling road! also its smoother internally which will help ever so slightly for better airflow i guess :)
