Anyone else got the large socks for these tyres? I can't get them to fit. Should I simply upgrade to the XL ones? For the record they fit my wife's car and they work a treat!

I have Autosocks, they come in different sizes for different wheels, there should be a guide to say what fits what, i.e., 225/45/17 - 205/55/16 - 225/40/18 should all use the same size.

I think this company developed them, and I'd recommend them if buying another set, having had two sets for a few years, although there is no substitute for m&s tyres!
My winter prepped car is in the bodyshop and I needed to use the snowsocks yesterday to get on the drive with the courtesy car, they amazed my neighbour who was pushing the bonnet to no avail.

Thanks for your reply.

Problem is I have the correct socks as per their size guide, but can't get the buggers to fit on. There is hardly any space above the tyres to get my hands in, and I just can't get the socks to stretch enough.....

Ah I see, is your car lowered?

I think putting larger ones on may be ineffective as they'll be all loose and floppy and you'll still have the same issue of hand clearance?

The ones I have you put them on just enough and they self centre after a few yards.
Try fitting them in the 10 and 2 position then rolling forward to do the rest, apologies if that's been tried!

Never even noticed it (you dirty old man).
