i got my gearbox oil changed under warranty when i had a cupra 20vt and the car was out of warranty it was a recall on the car.
mine was notchy untill they changed the oil might be worth a try with the dealers for you.

Haha did mean to put cam* belt.

To be honest if you have the right tools and preparation it is not that bad. I used a Kennedy engine support beam (http://www.cromwell.co.uk/KEN5038100K), which to be honest is a simple but well made piece of kit. I thought would be handy for the future anyway, just meant I didn't have to put a bit of wood and bottle jack under my engine ^^. And I brought some tooling off of Dave at seremotors, on this forum, part number:- T20197,turns out this tool does not exist anymore, so he sent me two replacements at no extra cost. Also brought a shim (part number:- T10008) off of him for the tensioning unit when you have to pull the tensioning pulley back and lock off the tensioning unit ready for a new belt.

It was a bit fiddly, but you only need to jack the right hand side of the car up, and the engine support beam only has to take the weight of the engine, as you have to remove the right hand engine mount. I would say if your patient you will be okay, but it's just a matter of common sense really, don't have to mess around tensioning anything as it does it it's self, so pretty straight forward, just time consuming.

I've never done a cam belt before, I am an engineer but not a car mechanic, and I found it okay, I have taken a load of pictures and I'm meaning to make a guide for others.

Ive done a cambelt before with the block of wood and ratched strap method. I think the support beam would be safer.

If you get a chance to write up a guide with some pics i personally would be very interested to read it as iam sure would many others. ;)
