I've part-exchanged my Seat a couple of weeks ago and I thought it would be a good idea to leave my final (and very honest feedback) on my old Seat Leon Fr Mk3 TDI 150.

I had the car for 4 1/2 years during which time I did approximatively 50k miles. I purchased it back in 2014 when it was one year-old.

Technical issues with car during the period:
- Door cards "rectified" under warranty
- Headlamp unit changed under warranty for failing to level
- Dash rattle rectified under warranty (at least that)
- Apparently a silicone bag exploded and it blocked the heating pipes, so I had no heat in the car.

What I liked / loved
- Good looking car - I loved the angry, angled look
- Fun to drive (road quality and traffic permitting) even though it wasn't a very powerful engine. Sometimes I really felt like I was driving a go-kart
- Quite roomy - not bad for a family of three, although because I am tall nobody could sit comfortably behind me, or I had to drive in a not-so-comfy position

What I disliked / hated
- The door cards - they drove me absolutely mad. Rattles, vibrations, knocks - you name them. Tried to sort the issue under warranty without any luck. In the end I gave up
- Very stiff suspension - as somebody pointed out here a while ago, I drive over a pound coin and I could tell whether it was head of tail.

Would I buy Seat again? I am afraid no. The door rattles gave me nightmares.

That's all from me folks. Take care and enjoy your Seats.

For a 6 year old car I would say that is a good list of faults (or lack of faults should i say), no mechanical or major units issues in 6 years/50k + is not bad going, not perfect by any means but acceptable.

I can totally understand the rattles drive you insane, I have a rattle on my passenger door and it is annoying, I do plan to tackle this myself very soon though.

Very helpful to leave your honest review after so many years of ownership but one thing has me curious.. what did you part exchange the leon for?

That's pretty good reliability. I'm surprised that the door panels couldn't be silenced, they couldn't have tried very hard.
You'd hate a GT86 or BRZ, mobile castanets.

Think you will find most cars rattle now after a while. Cars are not built as solid as they used to be.

As long as the speakers are louder than the rattles then I'm good !
