Sony HU install HELP!

I've recently installed my sony HU underneath the steering wheel, but i'm now beginning to get problems. At first if you moved the steering wheel up and down via the leaver at the side while the stereo was playing the interior light would come on and the stereo would turn off. I solved this by connecting both the yellow and red wires from the HU to the standard positive wire, after doing this the interior light still came on but the stereo didn't turn off. I thought i could live with that so i left it. Now my epc light has come on and i have the following codes coming up on Vagcom:

16955 P0571 Cruise/Brake Switch (A) Circ Malfunction
16885 P0501 Vehicle Speed Sensor Range/Performance

Plus my speedo has stopped working altogther and the fuel gauge is al over the place.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do. I was thinking of resetting the codes removing the stereo, plug the original one in and getting a pro to fit it.

You've either damaged or unplugged some cables under the dash. If you aren't sure what you're doing then you really should seek professional advice.

i've uninstalled it all plugged the standard stereo back in and deleted the errors, but even with everything back as standard the stereo still cut off and the interior light came on . So i'll be taking it into a pro on Friday. In the past when i've fitted stereo's it was just plug and play i can't see where i've gone wrong on this one.

Like I said it sounds like you've either damaged some wiring under the dash or you've losened a plg under there...
