you wont need the same size wheel to pass, mine passed on 18inch and 17inch spare spacesaver, the rolling radius will be the same anyway due to larger tyre diameter... wouldnt worry bout it..

anyway if your concerned take the spare out, they cant test it if there isnt one, it isnt a legal requirement to carry one, if you do it must be in roadworthy condition.

Take a look at this link, it says otherwise.

If the spare is located under the car, then it must be held secure, prehaps thats where the mix up is?

There are some really stupid rules with in the test, you would have thought it would make sense to test the spare, but you dont.

Another silly rule is if a child seat is fitted, you cannot remove the seat belt from it to test that belt, its an automatic pass and advise ie the advisory would state that that belt was not tested. If i had a kid, id want to know their seat belt was in good order! :)

Kind of daft but it might be to ensure people arent refitting the seat, I know if I ever need to remove a child seat for any reason then its put back in the car upside down, sounds crazy but If i fit it incorrectly and its involved in a crash it may not give the required protection, if its upside down the owner knows that they have got to fit the seat as opposed to presuming its ok or being none the wiser to it being removed
