hmmm, so how does m0rk think they are £20? Unless they are naff ones?

You can pick up spark plugs for about £5/£6 but then it depends what you want. IIRC Halfords sell spark plugs (their own brand) and they are pretty cheap. I guess they would be £18/£20 for 4 but don't expect to have top of the range NGK performance.

Up to you ... as Bill says "You pay your money ... "

ok no worries. Will have to wait for a bit then as I am too skint :(

Just used www.sparkplugs.co.uk and they are brining up different part numbers up for Leon Cupra/Cupra R as compared to the Ibiza 20vT?

You maybe in luck here ;)

I gotta go to rugby league now but I'll be back to check tonight and I'll let you know, if now I'll stick them in the for sale section.

Bugger! That was a waste of money

i have no worries with paying out £40 ish for plugs, just i thought it would be a quick/easy thing to do for me in the near future. I thought £20 odd seemed a bit cheap to be honest anyway.

I'll just put it into next months "mod budget" lol

cheers flapper. Had this problem really since buying the car in oct 04. Have had MAF cleaned once then I made them change it the second time. Had a coolant level sensor and coolant temp sensor replaced in my ownership too. Still does it. Coilpacks seem fine, VAG-COM has no errors.

TBH Sparks are my last option. I picked the car up from SEAT and they "did" the 40k service at the time of collection, so the plugs SHOULD have been changed. However, I am somehow doubting that the service was done properly as the oil on pickup was terrible (queried this with them but they gave me some story blah blah)
Also had TB cleaned, realigned numerous times, and still no luck in solving problem. It is REALLY apparent after a journey, I sit to let turbo cool for a bit and about 10seconds after stopping and letting car idle the car sounds like its gonna stall, drops to about 650/700rpm then jumps back up to the 1k mark briefly before returning to the 800rpm idle speed (all approx figures there)

I just thought that if my car has now done 51k, i could try changing the plugs and see if it helps. I understand that the NKG's are recommended when the car has been remapped anyway...
had all this done to mine even had a new dv and had Awesome gti take £200 off me to sort the dam thing, still get the prob now and again but i dont know what to do let me know if these plugs work as im gettin:censored: :wtf: about it now ruddy car.the only time it didnt do it was when runnin APR stage 1 trial had no probs but had a large prob when it ran out it was worse but a tb clean helped.
I use super unleaded now which does help but get a slight dropp after givin the car death:confused: only when ive done hard brakin for traffic lights:rolleyes:

never had my car actually die. But just thought I would change the plugs for new ones anyway. I have done 13k on the plugs AT LEAST, and as said i seriously doubt SEAT changed them at the "40k service" that was supposedly done.
First bad words about the techies in Kings SEAT Portsmouth too - after having my boot lock changed a second time the engineers have f***ed up my trim in my boot, even with missing screw-plug-cap things to hold it to the car properly.

these are the people who are meant to know what there doin, what hope have we got.Should sent them all to spain and keep um there.bet the swines even have a siesta here in the uk.
My car was built on a friday at 2.55 5 mins b4 siesta and the weekend:lol:

they do know what they are doing, they just dont care and don't do the job properly. This is exactly why I take my car to a garage I trust now. As my warranty runs out in about 2weeks time, I will only be going back to the dealers for parts I need.
The parts team, sales guys, and customer facing service staff are brilliant. Just not too impressed with the people behind the scenes.

the daelers up here dont care or know what there doin i take my car to awesome they may cost more but its worth it for the help and advice.tried gettin an oil filter on a saturday once, told the parts dept dont open on a saturday come back monda 30 mile round trip, very helpfull to me, so that was it not a happy bunnie had to go halfrauds as the car was on the ramp at me mates garage, and the only reason i dont use my mate is he is to busy and cant get me in half the time
