Pull off is ok, then hits a flat spot,
then car seems to pull hard again.

the thing is with these cars the syptom you describe could be one of a multitude of things, coilpack possibly, boost leak or maybe a sensor is ka'put. Have you had it on vagcom?

personally mate, as i say (from experience) you can second guess a lot of things which could become expensive. Vagcom is very useful, if you put a help wanted thread in the vagcom section i'm sure there will be someone near'ish you in London that woud be willing to log it to help out a fellow member 
. If you get any errors on there your insure of, put them up and someone will help. Sorry, i know that isn't the most helpful post but just trying to save your money
