It might be worth paying a VAG specialist to carry a a diagnostic check? I’m considering doing that for the cruise control error. The specialists working on post warranty cars may have already fixed the problem on another car.
You would have thought that the dealer network would have more information than a local garage.

It's also still under warranty for another 4 years 9 months, so why should I pay to fix something that should have been right from day one?

If you guys can get a full scan of the codes with VCDS or OBDELEVEN I'm sure someone on here will be able to point you in the right direction.

You’re right of course, but I just don’t have the time or energy to keep going back to Johnson’s in Preston.
