Spikey things under my mats

Is there any reason why all the mats apart from the front passenger one have the little spikes under them to stop them moving about?

Just seems weird.....

Mine have the spikes too, but they certainly dont stop them from moving around. I'm forever trying to reposition the mats and line up the screwtops with the holes in the mats again.

Do the mats come with the car or do dealers put them in as freebies? I've got the mats but assumed my dealer gave me them.

freebies lol, hell no, there was no haggle when it came to our mudflaps and mats, £60 i think they were for the mats

Looks like I got mine free then! It was suggested that I did as my husband got some too for his car. Our dealers are damn good really.

Mine were free too.

All the mats with the spikes don't really move around which is fine, but the front passenger one without the spikes always ends up half way up the back of dash board - just don't undertand why it's not got spikes!

(Just to confirm, when I say spike I don't mean the screw things you attach to the carpet, but the hundreds of moulded spikes on the underside of the mats themselfves)

I got mine free with the car and mine is the same, just the passenger mat.

Any way of keeping it stuck to the carpet?

Well, you could screw the mats down with supplied thingimy bobs but I don't want to do that becuase I don't want to make holes in the carpet - stupid I know.

I screwed mine down, you can't see the holes in the carpets when you take them out.
