just taken off my old TIP as i have a new one coming,

the car has only done 16k miles and it looked like this.......:scary:

would it of caused any issues, there was no codes and felt like it was running fine.

my TIP split in exactly the same place but about 90% of the way round which used to send it into limp mode everytime i drove it. my car was 2 and half years old and done about 18k at then. cheap crap pipes. in the process of uprating all mine too, just got TIP and uppers left

The reason for them splitting, is due to oil breaking down the rubber.
Are the Cupra and Cupra R TIP's the same? I'll be looking into replacing mine for a Forge Silicone item.

Forge list a few which are differed by engine code, even if you source it elsewhere look it up there first then you know what part to source.

And yes I'd have to agree about the oil perishing the rubber. Another problem with rubber pipes is mice although that wouldnt be the case here

no they are not the same,

i understand about oil perishing the hose but not after that length of time, i think its dye to the clip on there,

i think my pipe just shows its worth checking

Has it been on from new? you didnt say what length of time but am guessing its 2 years. Thats quite a while, plus other things can affect the rubber, WD40 for instance also perishes rubber, it may have been off before you brought the car.
