Spraying Center dash

Just wondering if any one has done this, as my dash has worn away round the volume knob, as u can see in this pic, has any one got pics of it sprayed?

you been cranking up the volume too much? there was pics of someones red cupra with bits of the dash red, think it might have been an extra when new.

Yea this damn sterio aint loud enough ......yea i seem to think ive seen a cupra with a red center dash. Well if any ones got any pics or info on doing it wud be nice thanks

I've seen somewhere, people have used that film stuff you can buy in sheets, a bit like this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=ROAD&pcode=R/B4000.42 but I guess it would take a lot longer cutting out all the wholes etc??

you can paint it but you need to rub it down loads (with very fine paper) to remove the rubber coating! Ive painted my handles and believe me its a nightmare getting the rubbery stuff off!

also you will have problems with the bottons, you can remove them...?

yeah the facia comes off and you can remove them yeah, or just decent masking job.

you cant remove them pal! they have little stainless steel plates holding them in and the plates are plastic weldinded on!

some nice info comin in ... cheers lads, i was thinking u could remove the buttons because ive had the front facia off, oh well that wud be a twat masking the buttons out. and for the carbon fibre film stuff i think that wudnt work because there is to many curves to get it smooth and wudnt look right, unless some ones done it and has pics.... let me know
