I'm sure everyones heard that lowering springs tend to kill dampers over time and are generally a pretty poor solution as theyre not 'matched' to the dampers as such.

As the cupra already has 'stiffer' suspension does that go to suggest that lowering springs could work well on the leon cupra? or will it still be absolutely cack? bearing in mind that i never go track days or anything like that, just the occasional back road bash...

Its always going to be a compromise unless you buy matched springs and shocks.
As for how good the handing will be, should be alright but rubbish on bouncy back roads
