to be honest i dont know if the bottom ball joint was out its possible,i will find out could this be a cause?. we also had the calliper out to get to the abs sensor.id say its lowerd 35-40mm at the front and as low as it goes at the back.
just out of interest do you know what takes the hub nut off?we were going to take it off but didnt have a clue what takes it off thought it must be a seat/vw part just thought id see if you knew.

hmmm, hard to say, both i think but not 100%.what would be the difference between in a straight and turning?

right well i"ll give it all a good going over tomorow pretty sure we double checked everything but it wont do any harm checking again.ill let you know how i get on.
cheers mate

Drop links knocking?

Did you change them and cut out more of the arch liner as they sit differently?!

rossco of course ive got the tool to get the driveshaft nut off

its a 32mm multisplined socket iirc

:birdy: :bleh: "ROSCO THEN" :bleh: :birdy:

if you look under the car pg glasgow see if the driveshaft is knocking against the arb or the droplinks arent catching the wheelsheild! common common faults when people put coilovers on!

sorted out the knocking noise and just as sugested by a few of you guys it was indeed the plastic arch liner catching slightly on the new droplinks.cut a good 10-15mm of the plastic away and no more noise.
thanks for all your help:clap:
