when I pull away slowly, I get this squeeling sound coming from the front wheels (well thats where it appears to be coming from)
it only happens however upon pulling away slowly/initial acceleration, but its fine once rolling
I thought it would be a wheel bearing, but this normally comes in the form of a droning sound when travelling
I have had the passenger side wheel bearing done, and recently had Powerflex bushes fitted too...and still the squeeling noise continues
I am sure its related as the steering just does not feel as tight as it use to. All tyre pressures are ok, no play in the wheels and tracking seems ok too (although could do with being done again I think as there is a little play in the direction at high speed)
so, I went to AMD today, and we went out for a test drive, and it was really difficult to replicate the issue...seems to happen more so when it is cold
we put it up on the ramp and found a couple of things. The oil drain pipe was resting against the drive shaft, so we cable tied this back to see if it would stop the noise (as a temporary measure, we will sort this out properly another time). There is definitely less vibration coming through the steering wheel now, but still this noise
track rods seem fine too
the only other thing was the gaitor on the arms of the steering rack needs replacing as these were split, but nothing major
any ideas? I am lost to think what it could be.............
