Hi new to this but is their any way of improving the standard dump valve or make it sound any better I heard that drilling into the air filter box helps any ideas
Best way is to use an open cone, also remove the bonnet lining and silicone tip makes quite some difference. If you dont want an open cone, drill the bottom part of your airbox.
The standard dumpvalve is a very nice piece of kit which holds boost quite well. Also reacts very fast to boost changes due to diaphragm design (aftermarket = piston design) and is maintenance free (piston needs cleaning every year or so)
Is it safe to remove the bonnet lining ? Is it not heatproofing as well as soundproof?
I have a jetex cone with a standard dump valve and it defiantly increases the noise but not as much as I'd like, am debating buying a forge 007p or removing the boot lining.
