Im getting hold of a second set of Starfish Cupra alloys, Which are in need of a refurb for a good price,

I keep thinking on what i could do the them color/style wise, Its a Flash red LC , cosmetically Stock/OEM which is along the lines i want to stay, But since ill have 2 sets i want one set to be.... well.... different,

Any ideas? 1 set will be staying Oem silver, the other set there are no limits,

yeah , Hmm i did think about the red a white look,

Even had a quick 5 min "poor" photoshop , Overly slammed i know but ignore that!

Few mates even mentioned a Camo look but im not sure!

The olny other question i have is, :

How much tougher is the paintwork/powdercoating on a proffesional refurb in comparison to using rattle cans,

reason being what are the chances of the paint being stripped off the rims when the new tyres are being fitted?

Mate, it you can get to about 3 miles from Leeds/Bradford airport then i use a company called CAS Coatings. They're £1 an inch for any colour, over 300 in stock. It you wanted it laquering, like for a really shiney silver, its £1.50 an inch, but just standard black, white, red yellow etc this isn't needed.

They're really good and helpfull, all you have to do is get the tyres off yourself, and they cant do plastic centre caps as they basically bake them in the over until they're bare metal, clean up the edges best they can, then powdercoat them. The paint is hard as nails

If your interested ill get the number from work

Tyre machine won't take the paint off just make sure its dry [leave it a good couple of days after paint]

il keep an eye on this , as thats pretty much what mine looks like , & i want something different
only i dont have 2 sets :(

was thinking white , what about bare metal polish that possible on this style or cost too much etc

I love the starfish alloys - I'd be reluctant to change them at all :)

How about doing the spokes black but chroming the rim? That way you'd have a nice contrast against the bright red of the car but the chrome frames off the wheels nicely.

exactly my thoughts, its only because ive managed to get hold of a second set im going to experiment, The original Starfish's already fitted are mint, and would rather keep them that way,

up to now Its white, possibly powdercoated, but i think i might get hold of a few colour rattle cans and have a play on one of them, then once decided look at a good quality refurb,

im not sure on the chrome personally, mainly because its what i used to go for when modding cars :p

A light pastel/baby blue was another suggestion!

hmm will keep thinking before i take the plunge as there not much wrong with em , just fancied sumin different

my other thoughts now is if im going to get bigger brakes ,ie R32 brakes could i keep the orginal wheels or need bigger ones for clearance

cheers

Would anyome be able to photoshop them a fluorescent Orange for me>? ive picked them up tonight, first stage is to do a bit of de-curbing!
