Just doing some research really - there's a 'flat' type and a generic one. Are there any differences apart from one being totally smooth/flat?

make your own did on my fiesta, piece of wood attached to parcial shelf underneath drill speakers in place, acoustic carpected over original holes in shelf first thou. If you don't wanna wreck your shelf in first place go to scrappy and get one to use, alot cheaper!

I just cut holes out of the existing one and the bought some black material and covered the shelf with that. Neat, tidy and cheap.

get the generic one for a more OEM look, looks much better.
