steering rack bush fitting?

From what I saw when I was underneath the car, there's not much to it. When I considered doing it, I thought that access would be an issue. But someone suggested going in from underneath, and he was right. As far as I could see, it's a handful of bolts, nothing really difficult apart from actually getting a spanner on to them.

Get your front wheels off, get your head in the arches and take a look, you should be able to see what you're aiming for. Just do one side at a time and everything should stay in place.

Sorry it's not an actual guide, but hopefully it's a little bit of help...

Two bolts on each side of the rack. Driver's side mounting is trapped by the arb.

I've only done it with the subframe dropped, not sure if there is clearance with it in place. Worth a try though.......

so does the rack itself have to move to get to the bush, or just lower the subframe and its accesible? sorry, never done this one tbh. and to lower the frame sufficiently, which bolts will have to be undone?

Never dropped the subframe with the wishbones connected to the wheels. I suppose it depends how stiff your bushes are as to how much the subframe drops. You might get enough clearance without actually completely removing the subframe mount bolts - just unscrew a long way.... The bush is reasonably easy to get at - very easy with the subframe on the floor.....

Thinking of doing this over xmas as bush is pretty cheap and i have 3 weeks off
Further up here it says ARB is trapping access for drivers side mounting is this not the case for LCR due to different shape ARB or does it still foul it??
Car is in need of realignment as front subframe was dropped to fit bigger downpipe a few weeks ago, so would rather do it now than pay for it twice
