Hi Guys.
Does anybody have a thread for changing the steering wheel over please.
I have the 1.4 Toca 2013 and would like to change it over to the flat bottomed FR version.
Thanks Peter

did you change it? is it 6j facelift compatible with the 6j pre facelift? will the new airbag work on older cars?

No, I was hoping for a guide / advise as I do not want to spend the money and then it to find does not fit. Also worried about the airbags etc.

Anyone fitted this one keeping the airbag? I have to change my steering wheel anyway so probably I would choose this one instead of the one I have....

take old wheel off, should have a few screws on back side, then pop airbag off watch for cables unplug these, 24mm nut on middle, undo it but not all the way, yank the wheel so it moves off, then undo the middle bolt, and then just replace the wheel with an FR/Cupra/aftermarket one.

Yes, but would my airbag fit a post facelift steering wheel?

New steering wheel ordered, I believe it will be a great update. The only thing I want to change in this car... It feels cheap... By the way too bad Uk is leaving EU, I used to buy a lot of things on ebay uk :D

Hope you can help me - I need to take off the silver plastic on my steering wheel.

Does it look like they come off easy?

Do you want to remove to paint it?
Because without it the steering wheel looks awfull, I've saw pictures removed, I don't know how to remove it tought.
I guess first you have to remove the airbag, to remove the plastic, I really don't know if it is glued or not, I would recomend trim removal tools so you don't damage the plastics. Because they can scratch.

Judging from the pictures, it looks like the 3 silver parts are all 1 unit, seeing as the holes they sit in don't go all the way through I'd say they just clip out.

Yes it is only one part, because of that you have to remove the airbag first.

First you need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Then wait 5 minutes.

Pull the steering column all the way down and outside so you can work in the back of the steering and then:

insalling is in the reverse way.

Don't put the battery earth cable back without fitting the airbag, if you do that you will have an airbag error on the dash and need vcds to reset it.
